Stadium Info
Gresty Road has a capacity of just over 10,000 although the Air Products stand holds more than half of this amount on its own and quite simply dwarfs the other 3 stands. However with all the regeneration work that has taken place since the early 90's, the stadium is now a very pleasant one to visit and there are very few bad seats in the house. On top of this, the club now boast some of the best disabled facilities in the football league.
Away Fans
Visiting supporters are situated in the Blue Bell BMW Stand running along one side of the pitch. The television cameras are also locate in here meaning you're unlikely to see yourselves on tv. Up to 1,700 fans can be catered for and if the allocation is sold out, try to avoid being at the back. There are two supporting pillars that affect the view of a small number of seats in the top few rows.
Where To Drink
Most public houses welcome away fans, though the fact that nearly all have security on the door can be slightly off-putting for many visiting fans. Away fans are welcome in Clancy’s Bar, The Bank, Last Orders Inn and The Office all within a couple of minutes walk of the ground. Not all the pubs allow children in, it’s really a case of asking the security on the door. Most have the usual facilities and show Sky Sports so you can watch the early kick offs and catch up on the final scores from around the grounds.
Fish and chips and many other fast food, sandwich and pie outlets are situated on Gresty Road and the surrounding area, which offers possibly the best choice, so near to a football ground, in England.
Parking
There is space for 400 cars in behind the railtrack stand and if this is full when you arrive, street parking is freely available in the surrounding areas within a 10 minute walk of the stadium. Alternatively buses run regularly to and from the stadium so access is very easy. There are queues for the buses after the full time whistle but with the small crowds generally found inside Gresty Rd these days it shouldn't be too much of a problem.
By Train
The nearest / closest train station to Crewe Alexandra's Gresty Road Stadium is Crewe. The railway station is situated on the West Coast mainline and is well served by regular train services from all over the country, including Liverpool, Manchester, Birmingham, Chester, Derby, Wales to the west, Scotland to the north and London and Bournemouth to the south.
If you want to walk from the station to the ground, exit the station and turn left. Then take the first left into Gresty Road. The whole journey should only take around 5 minutes.
