Carlisle United - Brunton Park Ground Guide

Stadium Info
Brunton Park has a capacity in excess of 16,000 and has undergone some major redvelopment in recent time. Lots of terracing remains and its partly due to this that the atmosphere is generally as good as it is. When the economic financial situation clears itself up, i'm told that building work will start again.

Away Fans
Visiting supporters are generally housed in the north end of the Cumberland Building Society Stand with additional spaces if necessary in the uncovered Petteril End. If the game is not all-ticket, tickets are available from the turnstiles or the ticket office, but they are £1 more expensive than those bought in advance. Views aren't the best if you’re stuck at pitch-level at the corner with the Petteril End Stand.

Where To Drink
The Beehive pub on Warwick road is one of the friendliest and most popular pubs in Carlisle and it is an ideal location for United fans, being just 2 minutes walk from the ground. On a downside though, it doesn't allow away supporters in on match days. A better spot for away fans would be Carlisle RUFC, the Rugby club is right next to the football ground and is in very easy reach for any supporter going to the game. It's a decent bar with a friendly atmosphere and has Sky Sports. There are many other bars, pubs and clubs nearer the town centre in Bothchergate, which is immediate right from the railway station, however, away fans should beware as not all are welcome in some bars.

Parking
Plenty of car parking is available behind the CBS stand. All fans are advised to park here. However, street parking is also available and possibly a better alternative if your early but need to get away quickly after the game.

By Train
The nearest / closest train station to Carlisle United's Brunton Park Stadium is Carlisle Citadel. The station is served by the west coast rail main line, with the station situated in the middle of Carlisle, meaning relatively easy access to the city. There are regular services from the south of England including London and Penzance up to Edinburgh and Glasgow.

From the station walk straight ahead across the road and walk along the crescent until you see the entrance to Warwick road on the right, next to Bar Suede. Brunton Park is then about fifteen minute walk down Warwick road from the entrance to Bar Suede.
